The PLAY Project

What is The PLAY Project?

The PLAY Project is an autism early intervention program. Founded by Dr. Richard Solomon MD, The PLAY Project is evidence-based and designed to be parent implemented.

During the course of your child’s time in the program, you will learn PLAY methods to help you captivate your child’s hard-to-get attention.

You can learn more about The PLAY Project principles on their website.

How does PLAY Project work?

The PLAY Project is a program that trains caregiver to provide relationship-based intensive and individualized treatment to a child. PLAY Consultants train parents and caregivers in methods and techniques of the PLAY Project to help their child through meaningful play activities and daily routines. With parents and caregivers becoming implementers of the methods, this provides the child with nearly 20 hours of intervention per week.

PLAY Consultants train parents and caregivers by providing in home intervention in 2-3 hour treatment sessions, typically once per month. During these sessions, the PLAY Consultant will work with your family to help you build confidence in the methods and learn to interact with your child using PLAY techniques. Additionally, the PLAY Consultant will take a 15 minute video to provide you with feedback on the session and for you to review between monthly appointments.
